After Vang Vieng, I made tyre treads towards the capital city, Vientiane.\u00a0 You will remember that I met\u00a0the lovely, enthusiastic, happy and energietic Vietnamese cyclist,\u00a0 Ch\u00e2u B\u1ea3o on the way!<\/p>\n

The main road entering Vientiane is pretty.<\/p>\n

It is also a city that has retained the character of the French but not quite so much charm.\u00a0 It has a lovely promenade along the Mekong River where you can cycle, walk the dog or join in a free public gym class.<\/p>\n

You can wander through the night market which, unusually, does not sell food.\u00a0 It is pretty much a clothing and electronic accessories market.\u00a0 But you can stop in at any of the restaurants just across the road and sip a drink while watching the world go by.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
